Death is a part of life, but it’s never easy to say goodbye to a beloved member of your family, even when that family member has four legs, a wagging or swishing tail, and possibly a cold, wet nose. When your companion pet is terminally ill, and all treatment options have been tried, Southshore Animal Hospital offers end of life services to keep your pet comfortable and pain free while giving you time to say goodbye.
Having been there for you and your pet throughout his or her lifetime, we want to be there at the end as well, offering you kindness and compassion while helping your pet to experience terminal illness and the dying process with respect and dignity. Our understanding veterinarians have chosen medications that will ensure a pain free and peaceful end of life.
Following euthanasia, Southshore Animal Hospital provides pet parents with the options of taking the remains home with you for burial, or having your pet cremated. If cremation is selected, we partner with Heaven’s Pets and Agee’s Pet Crematorium to provide for cremation services. Please ask us about all available options when the time comes to make arrangements for your pet.
If you live in Metairie, Jefferson, Kenner, or New Orleans, before you struggle through another day with a sick, elderly, or terminally ill pet that is suffering, call us at Southshore Animal Hospital to learn how we can help you through this difficult time.
